Announces the launch of new xeno-free endothelial cell culture system suitable for clinical applications

June 21, 2016

CROMWELL, Conn. & KIBBUTZ BEIT HAEMEK, Israel–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Biological Industries USA (“BI USA”; www.bioind.com), the US commercialization division of Biological Industries, a leading developer and manufacturer of cell culture media, molecular biology tools, human cytogenetics media, and custom media manufacturing services, will have a major presence at the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) Annual Meeting, June 22-25 in San Francisco.

“This year’s ISSCR meeting, co-sponsored by CIRM, promises to be the best one yet,” commented Tanya Potcova, CEO of BI USA. “There have been many great advancements in stem cell research and regenerative medicine in just the last year, and we invite all attendees to visit us at our booth, number 1419, to learn more about BI’s latest technologies and to see how we are leveraging our new US headquarters to better serve our customers. This ISSCR will also be the first official introduction of our US support team. Now, researchers in the US have direct access to our defined, xeno-free portfolio, and can collaborate with our unique scientific, training, and commercialization team. We’ve got a great group who bring with them years of experience in the stem cell field, as well as great understanding of how the differences in media formulations can impact sensitive cell cultures.”

Biological Industries continues to broaden their regulatory friendly, xeno-free, serum-free media portfolio, providing off-the-shelf and custom solutions for an extensive range of regenerative medicine and research applications. BI will present data for the new EndoGo™ Medium during the ISSCR conference on Friday, June 24, from 11:30am-12:30pm in room 2002. The presentation will highlight how EndoGo™ culture system efficiently supports long-term expansion of human endothelial cells from both large vessels (arteries and veins, e.g. HUVEC) and small vessels (lymph and blood).

“Our team has been working internally and collaboratively in developing leading xeno-free, serum-free cell culture systems,” said David Fiorentini, VP, Scientific Affairs, BI. In addition to our NutriStem® hPSC Medium, MSC NutriStem® Medium, and MSCgo™ Differentiation Media, we are happy to announce the launch of our latest xeno-free technology, the EngoGo™ endothelial cell culture system, which includes a new defined, xeno-free, serum-free culture medium for endothelial cell expansion suitable for clinical applications.”

Bringing together more than 4,000 scientists from 60 countries, ISSCR’s annual conference is the world’s largest meeting focused on stem cell science and regenerative medicine. BI and BI USA is a Gold Sponsor of the event and will be at booth number 1419 in the exhibition hall.
